They had three sons; Mason Alexander, (George?) Washington & James, and were farmers. Notes on an old Texaco map, left by my parents who initiated this research, mention the communities of "Young Hickory, High Hill, Meigs, etc near McConnelsville"(the Morgan Co. link) These names can also be seen penciled on a family chart. I would love to hear from anyone who may have information on these people.

I am looking for the burial location of Mary ELLISON, who died in Meigsville Twp in 1869. Mary would have been the widow of Robert Ellison and llison at the time of her death. I am also hoping that someone with access to the 1840 Morgan County census can find this same woman as head of household and under the name of Mary McFarling/McFarland. She would have been about 47 years of age in 1840. She may have been lving with a son, either James, or Cyrus, in Bristol Twp, but he husband had died in 1839 and we feel she was listed as head of household with maybe even some children still with her. I would be most appreciative for any information about Mary McFarling in 1840 - known as Mary ELLISON at time of death in 1869. Thanks so much.

ARCHER, ARMSTRONG, MOORE, MURPHY, RANDOLPH, RIPLEY, SIMON, VAN FLEET
Replying to Steve Treacy -- my response to you bounced back. My wife
and I are very interested in any information regarding the marriage,
family, and ancestry of Cynthia ARMSTRONG, who married Robert MOORE on
17 Sep 1826 in Morgan County, Ohio.
My wife, Judy, is an ARMSTRONG, descended from James ARMSTRONG, who
married Jane RANDOLPH on 8 Mar 1827 in Morgan County, Ohio. We are
trying to find James' parents, and so are tracking all ARMSTRONGs in
the area in the early 1800s. There were 14 different ARMSTRONG
marriages in Morgan County between 1819 and 1840, and only three
ARMSTRONG families in the county in 1820 (from the census). One of
these families, according to the 1820 census, had 8 children, one of
whom would be the right age to be James. The head of this family would
be Theodocius ARMSTRONG. The only other family James could belong to
was that of Joab ARMSTRONG.
We have very little information regarding these two men and their
families, so one of our avenues is to work on solving the marriage
riddles of the ARMSTRONGs in Morgan County. And your Cynthia ARMSTRONG
is the first connection we have found. Other marriages we are actively
tracking are: Margaret ARMSTRONG and Jeremiah VAN FLEET - 6 Mar 1821,
Malinda ARMSTRONG and Isaac MURPHY - 22 Feb 1827, the second marriage
of Theodocius ARMSTRONG to Mary (Polly) Sprague RIPLEY - 27 Jan 1827,
and Harriet ARMSTRONG and Christian SIMON - 15 Nov 1832. All help
greatly appreciated.
