Attached obituary:
John Adrian oldest child of Jacob and Elizabeth Adrian
b. in Jefferson Co Ohio Sept 22, 1827. He moved with his parents to
Morgan Co. in the fall of 1842, the farm selected as a home, being in
Windsor township, all in woods. He helped his father to clear the farm
and culivate the soil. August 5 1852 he was united in marriage to
Elizabeth Rainey. To this union were born nine children, 5
girls and four boys. His wife died January 30 1901. He was a firm
believer in God and everyday religion, the Bible being his favorite
book. Perfectly honest and just in his dealings with his fellow man, he
would suffer himself to be defrauded, rather than to take any unjust
advantage of his neighbor. He was a kind husband, a kind and gentle
father, and respected and loved by all who knew him. During his last
sickness, no murmur escaped his lips, he was patient and cheerful. He
fell asleep in the evening of Jan 27, 1912 to awake in that bright city
where there is no night. He leaves nine children, twenty four
grandchildren, three brother and many friends to mourn him. Towards the
end of his earthly journey, his feet were growing weary and after his
earthly life of 84 yrs 4 months and 5 days, was ended, he entered into
that rest were pain and sickness can never enter. So shall that life the
fruitage yield
Which trees of healing only giveAnd green leafed in the Eternal field
of God, forever live.
