Pages 318-320I, Levi Culver of Adams, Washington County and State of Ohio, do make and publish this my last Will and testament in the mannor and form following, that is to say,
First, it is my Will that my funeral expenses and all my just debts be fully paid.
Second, I give devise and bequeath to my beloved wife, Nancy Culver, in lieu of her dower the plantation on which we now reside situate in the town, county, and state aforesaid in Bear Creek Allotment of Donation Land being one hundred acre Lot No. 42 and part of Lot No. 41 containing about one hundred and fifteen acres during her natural life and such part of the livestock by me now owned and kept, also all the household furniture and other items not particularly named and otherwise disposed of in this Will during her natural life as aforesaid, the however just disposing of a sufficiency to pay my just debts as aforesaid,, and at the death of my wife all the property hereby devised and bequeathed to her as aforesaid or so much thereof as may then remain unexpended or otherwise disposed of in this Will to my son, Asa Culver.
Third, I give and devise to my eldest son by my first wife, my son Isaac Culver, one dollar.
Fourth, I give to my second son of my first wife, Isaiah Culver, one dollar.
Fifth, I give and devise to my eldest son, William Culver, of my second wife, the aforesaid, Nancy Culver, one hundred acre lot N. 43 in aforesaid Allotment town county and state aforesaid and to his heirs and assigns forever.
Sixth, I give to my second son John Culver of my second wife one dollar. Seventh. I give and devise to my third son Asa Culver, the farm on which we now reside to own and occupy same to his heirs and assigns forever after the death of my said wife as aforesaid. The farm given and devised to my son, Asa Culver, is the same as aforementioned containing Lot N. 42 and part of Lot N. 41 containing about one hundred and fifteen acres, also my oxen and horse together with all other livestock and farming utentials in my possession which is not disposed of.
Eighth, I give to my eldest daughter Hannah, now Hannah Henline, one dollar.
Ninth, I give to my second daughter, Elizabeth, now Elizabeth Carlin, one dollar.
Tenth, I give to my third daughter, Lucinda, now Lucinda Dain, one dollar.
Eleventh, I give to my youngest daughter, Nancy Culver, one feather bed and bedding, one cow, one set of chairs, one bedstead, and five dollars worth of kitchen furniture.
Twelfth, it is my will that Jesse Hissington, my Servant Boy, should live with and served my son, Asa Culver, and that my said son should perform all my obligations to him the said Jesse Hissington; the above to be paid out of my personal property.
And lastly, I hereby constitute and appoint Enoch Rector to be Executor for this my last Will and testament revoking and annulling all former Wills by me made and ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last Will and testament. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 27th day of November A.D. 1835.
