"Picture of  Martin and Flossie (Six) Sarina and their children.   Back from left to right-, JoLavon , Joyce, Bonnie,

Martin Sarina: Born: Jan. 1896, In Budapest Hungry. Ethnicity: Austro-Hungarian.

He came through Ellis Island when he was 2 years old, with his Mother, Julianna Sarina: age 37, and his sister, Elisabeth Sarina: age 3.

They lived along the Tisza Dob River in Budapest.Until they boarded the ship called Friesland.Which departed from Antwerp, bound for Ellis Island, and  they arrived, Aug. 22,1899 in New York.

I believe that Grandpa (Martin) had older siblings. Brothers: John, Louie, and Paul. Sisters: Emma and Julia. Not sure of their ages, birthing order, or when they came to the U.S. These (Julianna, Elisabeth and Martin), were the only ones on the ships manifest. You can seet more if you go to ellisisland.com.

Grandpa (Martin) met Grandma (Flossie) when he was delivering groceries out of the back of a truck. They married in 1921.  They settled in Hollister in # 16, coal mining community. Nine months or so later...Jack was born. They had a total of seven children. One of which died at a young age. A little girl.Wavelene.
The other children are as follows: Bonnie Jean, Jo Lavon, Joyce Elaine, Conrad William, and Paul.

Grandpa (Martin) worked in the #17 coal mine in Hollister. When he was in his mid-thirties, he had an accident, fell off the coal tipple and from that point on he had siezures. He worked as a handy man for different families around the area, to make ends meet.

Grandma (Flossie),worked in the garden and I can remember her making homemade rugs on her loom, and selling them, to help make ends meet. I am not sure how many years, before my sisters and I moved in with them, that they had done these things, to make it through the hard times. And they made it, through it all together, until death did they part.

Grandpa (Martin) Died in Jan. 1970. Grandma (Fossie) . Died in June 1987.

Grandma (Flossie), Born:April 1903. Maiden name: Six. Mother: Ellen. Father: John. Sister:May. Brothers: Roy, and Chester.
